Admiral T'Var contemplates the request of Romulan Commander Valeris. My OCs by www.deviantart.com/curseofther… . The Romulan has requested permission to leave her younger daughter at Delta Aquilae under the admiral's supervision.

Commander Valeris leads a Romulan squadron heading to join the Federation Alliance's 9th fleet currently fighting DOMINION and CARDASSIAN forces. Valeris' daughter Dorana is a civilian, a 17 year old student who is definitely not suited for combat operations. Valeris chose not to leave her behind and alone on Romulus. Valeris' mother, Valeria, showed no interest in being a 'babysitter' she is busy serving as governor of a solar system at the far side of the Romulan Star Empire.

This left Valeris with few options. So, she headed to Delta Aquilae and sought help from the Vulcan wife of her late human father. A real conundrum to say the least. After initial greetings and meetings as well as the revelation of kinship, a positive relationship began. The Romulans were invited to utilize the facilities of Delta Aquilae and Valeris, with her two daughters, attended a NEO concert as Admiral T'Var's guests. They actually enjoyed themselves and got to know their hosts a little better.

So now Valeris awaits the admiral's answer to her request. T'Var sits silently at her desk, her eyes cooly regarding Valeris and Dorana as she contemplates the request. After a few moments T'Var made her decision.

"I will allow Dorana to stay" T'Var says finally.

She watches as smiles appear on Valeris and Dorana's faces. They are apparently relieved by T'Var's decision.

"Provided you leave instructions and relevant information about Dorana." T'Var adds "We will need her medical records, dietary requirements, educational outline, and your parental instructions. I will oversee her overall care, and ask my personal aides to see to her day to day activities."

"Yes of course admiral, I shall provide all that is required." Valeris agrees. "I know that you will provide more than adequate supervision for Dorana. She is a well behaved and disciplined individual. She knows the penalty for bringing any dishonor to the Empire or our family."

T'Var nods her head slightly and turns her attention and gaze toward Dorana. The Romulan teenager stands silently behind her mother and has so far said nothing. The expression on her young face was one of relief and happiness.

"Well young lady, you apparently are looking forward to staying with us." T'Var said "I do not believe you will have much trouble getting used to life here at Delta Aquilae."

"No admiral, I will not have any trouble and I am looking forward to staying here." Dorana replies with her soft, shy, voice.

Admiral T'Var nods her head slightly, acknowledging Valeris and Dorana's words as she rises from her chair.

"I am sure Dorana will be no trouble at all." T'Var says to Valeris "I believe that her stay here with us will be beneficially advantageous for all."

Valeris extends her hand and T'Var takes it in a firm handshake to seal their agreement.

"Thank you admiral." Valeris says smiling slightly. "Come Dorana, we have to get your belongings together."

The two Romulans salute then exit Admiral T'Var's office.

Commander Karoul approaches T'Var's desk as the admiral returns to her seat. His concerns can be read on his face.

"Do you think it's wise to have a Romulan running around or base admiral?" He asks respectfully.

Admiral T'Var picks up the PADD from her desk and reads the report on the screen as she listens to Karoul's concerns. Her mind is made up, she has already considered the risks and found them negligible.

"I am sure that we can keep our 'secrets' safe from one Romulan teenager." T'Var replies. "You may keep her under surveillance commander, just make sure it is discreet. I shall have her briefed on the do's and don'ts around here."

Karoul smiles slightly, obviously satisfied with the admiral's decision. He knew better than to press any further.

"Yes admiral." He replies as he hands her another PADD with the daily security reports.

Admiral T'Var takes the PADD and skims though it. An idea arises in her mind.

"Commander, have Ensign Deir report to my office right away. I believe she will be perfect for this Romulan assignment."

"Yes admiral, right away!" Karoul replies
