In the late 29th century, the Temporal Cold War turned hot suddenly when one of the time traveling factions went back in time and made unauthorised changes to the timeline in order to defeat another faction. The agents of the TEMPORAL INTEGRITY COMMISSION managed to stop them and repair the timeline, but the genie was out of the bag and the cold war went hot.

The TEMPORAL WARS were a series of conflicts stretching across time, not only across time, but across Quantum Realities as well. The barriers that seperate the Quantum Realities were pearced accidentally allowing the TEMPORAL conflicts to be fought between the warring factions across the many PARALLEL UNIVERSES, threatening the very fabric of the Spacetime Continuum. The barriers that seperate the Quantum Realities were crossed many times causing havoc in those realities as well, prolonging the WARS and adding to the suffering.

By the 31th century the Temporal Wars were believed to be over. Temporal Agents of the TEMPORAL INTEGRITY COMMISSION kept watch over the timeline as they have for centuries and all appeared to be peaceful. When Agent Daniels told Captain Jonathan Archer that the 'damage had been repaired and the timeline restored' he could not know just how wrong he was. The faction led by Vosk had been stopped and destroyed, other factions have merely fled into the Quantum Realities in order to escape capture and continue the wars.

This new threat was discovered a year after the final conclusion of Daniels' mission back into the 22nd century. The TEMPORAL INTEGRITY COMMISSION tasked Supervisory Special Agent T'Vol to form a special tactical unit to deal with this threat to the timeline and Quantum Realities. This unit was designated 'Special Activities Division' and T'Vol has been promoted to director with a mandate to 'recruit and train suitable personnel as TEMPORAL SPECIAL AGENTS.

T'Vol, having survived the TEMPORAL COLD WAR and war itself, saw how inadequate the current group of TEMPORAL AGENTS are. They were nearly destroyed by Vosk and his followers and did suffer debilitating losses in personnel. Contemplating the situation deeply, T'Vol devises the idea to recruit new agents altogether. She feels that what is needed are agents who will be more ruthless in protecting the timeline. People with such the desired drive cannot be found in the 30th century so she decides to find recruits in the past. Also, these new fronts in the TEMPORAL WARS will be fought in the Quantum Realities, she needs recruits from those realities.

T'Vol understands the difficulties and dangers that building this new division and fighting this war will entail. Her first recruits were talented and dedicated, capable of completing the missions to where they were assigned. They preformed well after recieving the best training that the TEMPORAL INTEGRITY COMMISSION could offer but they were nearly decimated and the enemy factions escaped. Learning from their mistakes and her own, T'Vol decides to find recruits from the one reality that the COMMISSION has banned. After securing their permission grudgingly, she reviews certain records, chooses a candidate and sets off.....
