Very sharp example, I remember when these were a common sight on the road, but that was 40 years ago.

An old family friend had an well cared for dark blue one he used to step up to a nice 1968 or '69 Corvette some time in the mid 70's. Then he got mixed up in Corvette restorations... which I think led him to the dark side.
2 fantastic drop dead restorations of a Bronze '56 and a light blue '58 that ended up too good to drive the car and enjoy it, more of an investment than something to enjoy.

The '58 had been turned into a drag racer that had been repainted in UPS brown and yellow flames. Frankly... the car was disgusting when it was acquired, I remember looking at it with Dad in our friend's garage. UGH!
I know I learned a coat of paint can hide a multitude of sins under a Corvette body after that disgusting paint job was stripped.

I think the whole front axle assembly had to be replaced. Then the owner found out the original sky metallic blue with white fillet color and well made the right decision to re=do the car in it. I think things went over the top when he had a DELCO cone top battery basically built for the car. At that point he became afraid to drive it and found the Aztec Bronze '56 for a driver... worked that up won some nice people choice awards because the color was rare and presented the car wonderfully... then THAT one became too nice to drive, both sold at serious profit. I think the Blue one is in a Museum in NY or was... the offer was too good to be refused. I think he gave up on that sort of thing after that. My lesson? If I ever get something like that make sure it's a DRIVER.

When I went to the Simeone Ferrari meet, many of their owners expressed that. They try and get the car out for at least 300ish miles a year and take some trips with them. Others do more- running say... the modern Mille Miglia or the Copperstate 1000.
