Description
Many a time I have given constructive criticism on art that explicitly asked for it only to be replied to by a defensive and angry artist who insisted that their art was perfection incarnate despite shaky lines, no apparent consideration for light, impossibly distorted skeletal structure, etc.Stamp by ~Cedarbox

Spot on. Hence why I don't give critiques anymore, I just leave cutting criticisms.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism as long as one uses etiquette.

Exactly. I hate it when people request critiques but they really just want all compliments and they reject any critique that points out any flaws.
If you just want asskissing, then don't even request critique at all.

Well said!
I'll admit as a beginner it does damage my, at times fragile, confidence when people pic 101 holes in a picture I spent best part of half a day or so drawing.
HOWEVER I know to expect such things when I request constructive crit; I wouldn't ask for it if I didn't and know it will benefit me. If someone doesn't want that, WHY did they request it in the first fricking place?!

Exactly. That's precisely the reason I don't ask for constructive criticism from the masses.
