I really like this image, the model is beautiful and the fashion is excellent as well. I really like how you have made the background go fro dark to light, I think that is what makes this image stand out from others. Her blonde hair makes a nice contrast, and i think any other color would just fade into the background. The only thing I would think to change would be the shadowing on her face. I like the lighting set up as is... I wouldn't change that, BUT I think if she was facing slightly more toward the camera it would add at bid more. Overall, great image, it's a common look but stands out above the crowd. Two thumbs up! :]

I wished the background could be of another color, so the awesome head accessory could have stood out more.
But I lovvve the pop of color of the model's blond hair.

thankyou - ya - a slightly lighter Background may have helped, but as you say, the grey certainly helped with Mels hair
