This was taken by homez0rz Rochelle. That's me cosplaying as Solid Snake at MomoCon2007. I really wanted to get a dramatic shot with the bandanna flapping in the wind. Unfortunately, there was no wind. So, my girlfriend stood there holding the bandanna up and I photoshopped her out of the picture later. And thus, a deviantID was born. ^_^Related content

Strictly speaking I think it's not a flak vest...I think flak refers to those heavy duty jackets they wore in WWII and Vietnam that were supposed to save your life from shrapnel, except that they didn't really save your life from shrapnel. What I've got on is a 1994 ranger vest, it has Kevlar in it. I bought it off a friend a couple years back. It was originally a woodland camo vest, but I spray painted it black for the costume (since that dinky old woodland camo apttern doesn't do much anyways). You could probably find these at an army surplus store, just poke around. They might be expensive though.

Aye, most of the time I have seen one of them they're about 100 to 300 dollars. Thanks for the heads up though. It resembles the Vietname Flak Jacket I've been trying to get a hold of for a while. Seems the only difference is that the VN one is Olive Drab.

Yeah, it is. It's a crappy mini-electric that is not worth anyone's time. Hah hah. It makes a nice cosplay prop though.
This costume actually isn't very good for airsoft. I am wearing a real kevlar 1994 ranger vest in the picture. It's really heavy and one can't feel airsoft BBs through it.
