Ahh. Well, it's none too interesting. Just the basic "get bored of an oc" sort of thing; I didn't want to clutter up my three character limit nor let him metaphoricaly rot behind my other possible characters, because chances are he'd be neglected in favor of other OCs, so, letting him go/kill him off seemed like a better idea.

Yes, exactly! At worst, all I do is skim over the artist's description but even then it's still reading it.
Most often there's some sort of note or back story to the picture that people unfortunately miss. It's just a very unfortunate thing that most people do.
