Thank you for this! It's been driving me nuts lately that I'm getting better in Daz but still couldn't figure out how to get the shadows to show up. This heps a lot. I just have to play with the lights now and figure out how to work it.

Glad to be of help. The tut is for an older version of D/S. Version 1.5 has Ray traced shadows now, as wall as deep shadow mapping.
Ray traced will give you much more realistic shadowing, but will take a lot longer to render. (could take hours instead of minutes)

Will this tut still help me figure out the shadows?? I've only really tried once and didn't get one but I might now have had the lighting right.

So glad it was of help to you. If you are using the latest Daz/Studio, then you have a choice between deep shadow map and raytraced shadows. Choose Raytraced shadows for the highest quality render but be prepared for a long wait. Hair seems to take the longest to render (around 3 hours for a head and shoulders portrait 900x1200)
