Description Well, here I am with a new Zelda fanart piece. This one is in response to a request made by , who is quite partial to the Link/Ruto pairing, as opposed to the Link/Zelda pairing.

Personally, I prefer Link/Zelda, but when I got the request to do a picture showing Link and Ruto pulling a practical joke on Zelda, this "Carrie" parody popped into my head and I just HAD to do it. ^^

Zelda's having a rough day. So, I hope you enjoy it. ^^

This was a major perspective challenge for me. I'm still not convinced I have it right.

Roughly 36 hours with sketching pencils and a lot of Photoshopping with CS3.

Characters and setting belong to Nintendo. Art belongs to me.

Disclaimer: The red stuff IS blood. It's just really thick because it's been sitting out for a while and has gotten all coagulated. Ruto and Link killed a pig, poured its blood into a bucket and dumped it on Zelda's head; just like the movie "Carrie". This picture depicts the brief moment when Zelda is temporarily lost in shock after being drenched.

Well, to me, it was about Princess Ruto seeing Zelda as a romantic rival for Link. And her aggressive personality makes me think she would be more likely to be the jealous type than Malon.Β  Plus, she is a fellow Princess, rather than just a peasant, so that gives her more license to feel bold enough to humiliate another princess.

Meanwhile, Link is just obliviously along for the ride.Β  It's just fun and games to him.Β  XD
