Description
My first real custom CSS for dA!I started to make a whole bunch of them at the end of december, but my photoshop is a tad corrupted, so it goes with blood sweat and tears T_T
Anyway, A Final Fantasy VII CSS ^^ This one was actually the last one I started and the first one to be finished... >.<
Hope people will like it!
Click "Download" for the files. If you're new with journal CSS: the CSS.txt has to go into your journal css box, the Journal.txt into your journal box. You can edit the text and tags to your own comforts.
Of course you can edit the banner with your own name
If you Download this, please leave a comment so I know who it is! ^^

I didn't put him in because it only features the good guys. And modifications are alright, as long as you don't touch the credits in the bottom. I'm glad you got it going now, thanks for using!

Alright I figured out the lettering. However, after adding my own text in there and even Flattening the image overwriting both the FFVIIcsstitle and the other one as a JPEG image, you name STILL is there. Are you sure it is not something in the CSS code itself? It really looks immovable. This is the best CSS I have seen but it is far too complex for the average person to use. Please help me so I can use it.
Thank you!

Okay look, saving the new picture isn't enough. You gotta upload it and replace the OLD image link in the code with the NEW one. In the code the title image is directed at an url, not at the package itself... It's not complex at all, it's a very logical thing.

So pretty much upload it at imageshake or what?
P.S. look, I am sorry not everyone is computer literate here, as you seem overly frustrated with those that ask questions, and me. Not everyone knows this CSS code stuff. That is why we depend on you kinds of people to help us out. But I must say, your Artist's Comment should include better instruction because there is a lot more than just simply Downloading the file(s). . .
Don't misinterpret me as being a jerk, I am just saying, you know?

Upload it here: [link] It's way faster than imageshack.

Nevermind, it didn't send the message correcly. I guess I have to erase the whole old code. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for your help so far!

The last and final questiion:
Now it is uploaded and I have been given several codes. I picked the one I thought was right to put as the new code in the CSS text:
NEW code:
[url=[link]
Now, when I open the CSS Text file, where would I insert or put the above code:
OLD code (not entirely sure what should not be deleted in the code or not):
body {
cursor:url("[link] "), pointer;
}
Thanks!

I got everything else down, but now I cannot find the file: Title.psd anywhere! The only file I found was named 'FFVIIcsstitle' and when I opened it in Photoshop, could not find a text layer. A little help here cause this Journal looks pretty sweet to me!
Thank you for you time!

Hmm there should definately be a text layer there, try to see if it's in FFVIIcss.psd.

Oddly enough, no. The only Layers in the Layer pallete there are:
Layer 2
Layer 1 copy 2
Layer 1 copy
Layer 1
And the background.
There are no Text layer(s) or within the layers I listed show no Text. However, when I put the 'Journal' Text Code into my Journal box, your name is still there. I even tried opening the text up to see if your name was in there and I came across this:
My Site
Now I do not know if I am supposed to make a name change around that area of the code, but further help on this would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Oh I see what I did there, there is no text layer. Looks like I deleted it before uploading the files. You can just open the FFVIItitle.psd and create a text layer yourself, entering your own title there.

Awesome! The only thing I want to know is how to do shadowing of the letters. I forget how to.

Wow, thanks a lot! U'm still a rookie though, I started with dA journals to practice my css skills, and it sure helped. I don't have as much time as I did to make more of them, though. I might in time ^^

Actually, I have a question - how do you go about editing your name on the banner thing?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
stardrop In reply to grieverwings [2008-12-11 10:50:42 +0000 UTC]
Go ahead, that's why I made it! ^^
Open the title.psd in photoshop, edit the text then save and upload the image and use it to replace the old image of journaltop.
