I've set myself an 'Alphabet Challenge' for 2018.
Each week I will move through the alphabet and make a piece of art related to whichever letter I have reached. It might be a tv show, film, character or ship - whatever pops into my head.
So, week one and we have 'A' and the first thing that sprang to mind was 'Adventures Of The Galaxy Rangers'. So, here we have Niko and Walter "Doc" Hartford in their outlander disguises while infiltrating the Crown stronghold in Tortuna City.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 29 colours.
Doc's eyes were done with white and black.
His eyebrows were done with black.
His moustache was done with black.
His skin was done with dark sepia, brown ochre (light) and burnt siena.
His hair was done with black.
His hat was done with light phthalo blue, dark sepia, terracotta, black and burnt ochre.
His scarf was done with cobalt blue greenish, light phthalo blue, Payne's grey and black.
His top was done with cobalt blue greenish, light phthalo blue, dark sepia, terracotta, Payne's grey, black and bunt ochre.
His poncho was done with white, dark flesh, light phthalo blue, dark sepia, brown ochre (light), terracotta, burnt ochre, dark red and burnt siena.
His bandolier was done with white, burnt ochre and burnt siena.
Niko's eyes were done with white, earth green yellowish and black.
Her eyebrows were done with dark sepia.
Her skin was done with medium flesh, light flesh and dark sepia.
Her hat was done with light phthalo blue, terracotta, Payne's grey, black and burnt siena.
Her scarf / wrap was done with cobalt blue greenish, light phthalo blue, Payne's grey and black.
Her top was done with light phthalo blue, terracotta, Payne's grey, black and burnt siena.
Her poncho was done with dark flesh, dark sepia, terracotta, burnt ochre, and burnt siena.
Her bandolier was done with dark sepia, burnt ochre and burnt siena.
The central building was done with white, light magenta, sky blue, blue violet, walnut brown, bistre, indanthrene blue and warm grey 1.
The club sign was done with white, cadmium orange, light ochre, black, deep scarlet red and warm grey 1.
The building block was done with white, sky blue, walnut brown, bistre, light ochre, terracotta and black.

The 80's was king for great animated series
It's almost there but the Tortuna City dome was a pain the neck to do and the angle isn't right in some places but it's good enough.
Thanks.

If I had the money, I'd get those horses for my figures but at £1500 for the set, I think not.

Well, the toys are 30 years old now.
My figures are worth a fair bit even though they're incomplete.
Just need the Queen Of The Crown to have them all.
They always said female figures didn't sell well and never made Niko but made the Queen anyway.
Shame, would've been nice to have them all together.

Well, it was the same thing about female action figures from any series, they wouldn't make them because they didn't sell as well.
Nonsense really as the Princess Leia figures always sold well for the Star Wars line.
You kind of hope that if they made a second wave there would be Niko, Buzz, The Scarecrow, Ryker Killbane, Crown Soldier, stuff like that.
So, 6 figures, 3 horses and a toy gun is all they had to show for it.

Well, never happen now and there's not enough interest for a modern company to make them as 'retro collectables'.
Shame really, would love to see a modern take on some of these figures providing they kept them at least 6 inch scale.

Loved this series as a kid and it just jumped in to the front of the line.
