Contest entry by ."thank you, friend raven..." starfire said taking the red rose that raven handed to her.
"it's nothing, star..." raven replied, smiling. "happy valentine's day..."
starfire held the rose and admired its beauty. raven could not help but keep on smiling at the alien's child-like innocence. "a very happy day of valentine to you too..."
starfire yawned and raven offered her to lay her head on her lap. the tamaran princess was tired for they have been up all night waiting for the sunrise.
star closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep but she still held on to the rose.
raven held her hand and continued to stare at the sunrise.
she then softly said,
"when i'm with you, i don't need to hide my fears, my flaws, my insecurities...
when i'm with you, i can be myself...
when i'm with you, everything i see is beautiful...
everything falls into place..."
she looked back at the sunrise then at starfire's face.
"...when i'm with you..."
