{-Personal log, LCpl Judas T. Morrison. Date Log Created: October 18th 2548}

Some of the Innies surrendered and some tried to put up a fight. Luckily they didn't know just how many of us there were and so we kept the illusion that we had them outnumbered. Farrah and I kept them all rounded up while Vega stayed on overwatch. Him taking out one shithead that acted up after the ceasefire was enough for them all to keep a cool head. Meanwhile, Sandover began the search for the black box we were tasked with retrieving. Despite having them at a disadvantage-or so they thought, a few of them sure took the time to tell us how we’re all scumbags or cuss us out. Mostly we didn’t pay attention to what they had to say unless they got too out of line.

Luckily for us, there were no Innies waiting in hiding to ambush her nor Farrah and myself. Unluckily, it turned out that Sandover couldn't find the black box in the command tent. Once she came out empty handed, the remaining Insurrectionists held captive felt her wrath. She started off by questioning the leader of the camp but he wasn't very talkative. Breaking a finger or two didn't seem to help him much but his lieutenant didn't like the idea of being next in line. After the INS Lieutenant broke silence and pissed off his commander, we found out the black box was never at the campsite; apparently their retrieval team never made it out of the base. The commander, despite his injuries, still saw fit to cause trouble. He threw a few insults at his lieutenant and then directed his hatred towards us. Went on some ramble about how they thought the UNSC was experimenting on stuff and they wanted to expose it to the people. Show them just how bad the UNSC was. Their team was supposed to get information to shed light on that but never returned. Of course, the Insurrectionists all believed their people were brutally murdered by the UNSC ‘dogs’ as they so colorfully called us. It was all bullshit-none of us bought into it but the Sergeant slapped around a few more and put a bullet into a few kneecaps just to keep them quiet.

Needless to say, Sergeant Sandover was very unhappy with this turn of events and surely the fact that intelligence had given her inaccurate info. She immediately got on the horn and secured us a ride to search the UNSC base and come round up the remaining Innies. We got some bullshit answer about the black box transponder being shut off but I don't think any of us bought it. It wouldn't be the first time that Intel was bad. All you could do was suck it up and stay alive long enough to get through the next obstacle. I'd hoped the mission wouldn't get any worse but, well, you know who you're talking to.
