Maybe it's a perverse way of coping with the sadness caused by ÅST's Les Mis closing, who knows... But I've been feeling like revisiting the theme of Les Misérables and zombies for a while now.A little more than a year ago I drew a rather hideous but surprisingly popular poster for a mock Les Mis sequel with zombies. I thought I should do that one again to see if I've progressed at all.
This was supposed to be a poster, too - but I'm afraid the picture would become too crowded if I tried to shove any text in. However, I tried to shade this in a little bit different way than usually, wonder if that was a good idea...
Character designs are, as always, based on ÅST. They're drawn mostly without references, though, that's why they look off. From left to right: Grantaire, Enjolras, Marius, Cosette, Éponine.

I'm on studying holiday to prepare for my high school final exams. It's past 1AM and I've been drawing zombies for the past eight hours. Why do I have a feeling this is how I'll spend the whole break, instead of concentrating on my school books..?

Liking it so far! I really liked the beginning, with Cosette missing Valjean, that's so sad and heartbreaking... And now it's going to get all zombie-y!

I find this concept way too upsetting to think about. Zombie movies disturb me more deeply than any other form of horror -- something about the idea of having to shoot your friends? Anyway -- that aside, this is very well done!

Hahaha! My cousin went to a zombie walk with her little sons dressed as zombies, too! I can look at the pics... just can't actually handle the traumatic plots. :-p Were you zombie 'Ferre or Zombiejolras?

Haha, aww! We saw a guy at the Helsinki zombie walk with a little kid, so not unheard of here either. I thought it was pretty cute when he whispered "shh, we're living dead now" to the kid...

Cosette. I know the book doesn't describe her as blonde, but some of my favourite Cosettes - Mikaela Tidermark, Marika Westerling, Katie Hall - have been blondes, so I wanted to make her blonde in my drawing, too.

I love the detail that Éponine's eyes are bleeding/crying blood.
Javert is using his powers in death (from the Hero of the Republic) to make the dead rise for revenge.

Personally, I was a bit unsure if the blood tears are a bit too overly dramatic or not (though, in retrospect, in a picture about zombies - the whole thing is overly dramatic as a default
Haha! Never thought about this and The Hero being in the same universe - but why not, I like the idea!
Now I kind of feel like drawing more zombie!Les Mis... I really should be studying for my tests, not thinking about this...

But really, great job, and I think if you did some very stylized text, it might be alright, I guess it depends on how much you used.
