Even though I love dragons, I've never really been a fan of the How to Train Your Dragon series. However, I like white dragons and instantly liked the Light Fury and the Build A Bear Plush so I had to get one. I've called mine Starwave because of the white sparkles on her.

The thing I didn't like about the plush though is how small they made her wings and that they looked more like fairy wings than dragon wings. So I decided to make her some new wings. Now, Starwave looks like she's ready to take to the sky.

To make the wings I made a template from cardboard and traced around some firm felt. I then cut wing shapes from sparkly white felt and stitched it over front and back of the firm felt wings. I used a sewing machine to add the detail to the wings. Finally I stitched on some white elastic on the wings so they would loop around the arms.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how the wings turned out.
