Zidane Tribal of Final Fantasy IX.This is not from my private photoshoot, but it's a nifty photo that was taken by ! I really love it.
Thank you!I've made a few improvements on my costume since my previous photos.
1) Redid the cravat.
2) Repainted the boots with a new color (and with leather paint - that stuff is amazing).
3) Repainted the Ogre with a better blue (it's less green now) and a more realistic gold.
4) I made my sheathed dagger from scratch. Before I just modified a plastic dagger I bought. It looked really jank though so I made my own. I'm so glad I did!
There will be more photos to come, though probably not until June-July, as our photographer said he wouldn't have
access to his computer for a month.

I saw Hee-Hee's tutorial on hair lines (which...for the life of me I cannot find anymore! I think she took it down and never put it back up?) and it looked like a really easy alternative to front lacing, so I thought it was worth a shot! Nothing to lose right? It's a bit sloppy, but it got the job done.

As for the dagger holster, what exactly are you confused about? The overall construction of it, or the random tan-colored...thing that's just kind of there on it?

Well I just used a faux-leather material. It's thick as it is, and since I was going to make a dagger that fit inside, I didn't worry about reinforcing it with anything else - the dagger would hold the shape. So that's all I did. ^^ If you aren't planning to put a dagger in and need it to hold its shape, you can always use something really stiff...if you use a thick, leather-like material, simple interfacing probably won't be strong enough, so I myself would probably go for using cardboard or foamboard and sew it between layers of fabric. OR even less complicated, you could skip the cardboard/whatever and just sew down the edges. If you don't do that, the thickness of the leather will make the thing round, but if you sew along the edges, it will sort of "iron" the leather down and force it into the shape you originally intended. The only down side is that 1) the stitching would be visible, and 2) it would cut down the amount of space you had inside the sheath, in the event you wanted to put a dagger in later.
These are my suggestions. I'm not a pro, but I hope it's helpful anyway. ^^

Thank you! The lace is pretty awesome. It actually has elastic through it, so it made it easier to sew on in a curve.

I got my ticket moved forward two weeks, and I come home on June 4th!!!
It's just been really lonely and frustrating because I have no friends here really. I've made a total of 3 friends or people that I enjoy spending time with. I was also blatantly lied to by the school about the language issue here, and it's made lots more trouble and jeopardized my graduation.

You're right, there are so many Dissidia Zidanes out there now! Not many of the original version. Dissidia is cool but there's nothing like IX! It's just such a good game. At the convention this past weekend, someone said that he noticed that IX cosplayers are consistently better than a lot of the other Final Fantasy cosplayers. A girl dressed as Kuja replied saying "That's probably because IX fans tend to be more passionate" -- so true!!

and the color is really MORE blue. I never saw that it has a green tint to it until you pointed it out xD
*nod* Sure, the "new" design is awesome (and just the amano version if you look closely) but I don't like the EXTREME bi-shonen look. sure, zidane wasn't a over-manly man in IX either..but he looks like a total girl in dissidia D:

and the whole game was loveley.. EVERY character had his own past, problems... ffIX didn't only focus on the 2 main characters...
And I guess there was never an FF game with so many hidden secrets and LOVELY secrets.. like.. when beatrix found the letter and thought steiner wrote it to her x`D that was SO cute!!!

and no matter how often I play ffIX it never gets boring like other games.. FFx-2 for example.. even FFIX I plaayed just 3 or 4 times.. but ffIX? forever and ever and ever <3~ it's the only reason I didn't sell my ps2 so far (and I even have the PSone somewhere *lol*)
FFIX is so full with love <3~ it's sad that many didn't play it.. (my sister didn't play it because she didn't like how young and deformed the characters looked .........)

It really bothered me that my jabot/cravat wasn't round. I found some really awesome lace that made it super easy to sew down round without much work (it has elastic in it). I feel much better about it now. It looks a little less like a bib. XD
I agree! He looks so feminine. He didn't look super MANLY MAN in IX because...he's young! He would have been a strange 16 year-old if he had been parading around in a beard haha. So I think the bishounen look was a bit overkill in Dissidia, but that's Square's marketing these days.
Yes, the character development in IX was so good! I love that they didn't limit it to just Garnet and Zidane...everyone had an interesting past. Everyone had hardships (except maybe Quina and Amarant...but they were sort of comic relief), and all the little things like "Steiner's love letter" were just so cute and added so much to the game! And yeah, I loooove the music. I have a lot of it, but not all of it. I should really just buy the entire OST. It's not like I wouldn't listen to all of it. XD Hey, have you heard Kate Covington's new cover song? She did an arrangement for the Cleyra song. It's really pretty.
I know! So many people skipped IX either because of X's release, or they thought the characters looked dumb. Ahhhh if only they knew. ;_; It makes me so sad. As soon as I saw the commercials for IX, I knew I HAD to play it. I love the middle-aged feel too. That's one thing I don't like about VII, VIII, and X. They feel too futuristic. I definitely prefer the more "classical" fantasy worlds.

I never played 7 really much.. I played a few hours but thats it o.o.
8 was my first game I ever had for psone... and I loved it. but in comparison to 9 it was a little.. "cold and empty" from the landscape and towns/cities.. I remember walking foreeeeeever X_x but I still love it. it wasn't too bad
X was cool because of the new and much better graphic. and I really liked playing blitzball xD I guess I played more hours blitzball than the whole game *lol* I liked the story and all.. but I don'T know.. ff9 is just better from the play-feeling. it's like you're actually PART of the game.. in x I missed that feeling....

Yeah...the OST is expensive. x_x I haven't bought it because I haven't really been able to afford it yet. But I will buy it someday!
That's awesome that you made your sister play it. I hope she liked it. 
I've finished VII and it was all right...definitely not as good as people make it out to be, but it was fun. I don't think I would replay it though. VIII...I haven't gotten very far LOL. The beginning bored me to death, and I was too eager to play IX, so I just skipped it and played IX. xD Then X...I think I'm about halfway through, but I got stuck! I need to finish it. I like it, except for the bad voice acting. It makes it sort of painful to play. I guess I should just mute it or something. LOL But I do feel like IX is just so classic and it really brings you into the story. It's hard to explain, but I haven't felt that connection with the characters outside of IX.
