I played a game called Bridge to Another World: Secrets of the Nutcracker and in the game you play as Marie Stahlbaum the protagonist of the Nutcracker Prince and the Mouse King. That got me thinking so I decided to make what I think an adult Marie looked like.

The story I came up for her is that she and her older sister Louise are two daughters of a wealthy and respected doctor who happened to be old friends with Herr Christian Drosselmeyer, a famed toymaker who seemed to create life with his toys. Young Marie loved her Godfather's toys and would visit every Christmas and was soon joined by his apprentice Fritz who had a similar passion for toys as she did. Together the two grew and enjoyed creating and repairing beautiful toys until she turned 13 and it was decided she would start attending a finishing school in England. This broke her heart but she accepted her parents' wishes and told Fritz who gave her a Christmas present, her first kiss.
