I adore some fandoms but making fanart of any barely appeals to me.
On the other hand, I have truckloads more fun with my own OCs, my own planet, 2 god-chars, 3+ dimensions, and misc. other goodies hiding just under the surface of the pool of colorful little plastic balls that little kids love to play in.

There are too much fan characters out there ;; Even I am guilty of making some. XD Now I'm working on redesigning and pulling them into my own story concepts and stuff!

I fully support this. Sure I write fanfictions, but OCs are MUCH better. I hate how if someone makes a Naruto or Bleach connection, people eat it up, but with OC's.... its as if the people are just one little kid that doesn't want to eat his peas.

Yes, i prefer my own world with my own characters and stories too... Fanart is good too, but if you encounter at 80% of all DA-accounts Sonic, Mario, Naruto, Pokemon & Co. all the time... that's really a little bit too much for me too

I tried doing the whole "fanart for attention thing" more or les just to "get noticed" but I lack the passion so much, I hate doing it, I prefer OCs by far, and I have so many characters of my own that I can't spare the time to draw others, and I hate the fact that my most faved deviations are my fanart ones. so yeah I support this stamp

yes i know. there was a time i thought my art isn't good after all because i got zero faves. laaaater i noticed that only fanart gives you e-fame around here, and many people don't do anything else bunt fanart because of that. i used to think this page exists for you to develop YOUR own style and ideas, LOL!!

At the moment many artists do all fan art and then occasionally tag something as 'original'.
