I personally like the ending to Presentable Liberty. I like the idea of a lose-lose situation that you have to decide. You either do the logical choice to escape to find Charlotteβs now bloody pastry shop, or do the stupid choice to stay and die. Though I really like thisΒ ending as well.

Same. If the game had had this end, I don't think I would have loved it as much as I do now. I don't think the game was lose-lose though. Escaping was definitely the better option

Ehh it wasn't that sad if you really think about it, I mean it didn't say the whole world died...
And Doctor Money did die, and the prisoner didn't die... So maybe he found more people in another nation?
And the game wouldn't have been the same if it had a GOOD ending I think it's much better emotional as it is....
It also makes Money's death more enjoyable, but that's just my view on it...

I thought it was implied that the whole world did all die (Of course, that doesn't mean it's completely lonely, since animals are unlikely to be affected...), although maybe that's because I made an assumption that it's not set on Earth, but on a smaller world, where things like magic money making boxes exist.
I agree that the game wouldn't work if you could save your friends, since it's a linear story emphasizing helplessness, with the only choice being at the very end, where you choose between risking your life in the outside world or staying where you've been kept trapped. Kinda defeats the point if you're not helpless. I personally didn't find Money's death very satisfying, felt more like a "this is a bad ending, but I'm going to add this, to make it slightly less sad, lol"
