after watching mark play through it I wholeheartedly agree with you.
That ending wasn't happy at all...

I actually really like the game. And I know it's good, because it managed to bother me enough for my brain to produce an alternate end. But whoops on the spoilers
I don't think there are other ends. In theory, other ends could exist, the most obvious one being to stay in your cell, but considering the game mechanics, I don't believe that to be likely (I'll be testing it later today, since I own the game, but haven't played it yet).
It's also feasible that perhaps a timer exists in the game, that measures how long you played the games and on which days you did, which could influence the end outcome (for example, you might play the games, so that people think you're happy, keeping your happy buddy alive - or you might not play them at all, so your happy buddy is killed off early) or whether or not you actually read the letters (you might just ignore all letters, which would be an additional influence), but that would be attention to incredible detail and very few do that kinda thing

Ah, the spoilers weren't much, I just took a quick glance, actually. The game is good. It like messes with your head. those games I like. idk why.
at the time, I thought you could get others' endings for example, you're right like the number of time you spent playing the game, or if you read the letters or not, etc. But I thought you could like find the others, i.e. find out where Mr. Smiley's body was(what happened to him really) or confront Dr. Money, or see Salvador's body on the way out, etc. or, at the end, get along wth Dr. Money and have the option to stay in your cell, in which the power came back and you stayed there for eternity...idk, I just thought there was more.
It's unfortunate that there weren't any other endings. Felt like there were multiple :c
It's nice to come back and be able to understand your art now. I like it a lot~
