Moral Orel really showed the darkness of human nature around season 2 and three, and in season 1 everyone was just wearing a mask.
Clay had proven to be a horrible human being, and as a kid after his mom died he wanted his dad to hit him as Β a sick way of thinking that's how you show someone you love them, but he hurt Orel out of anger and self loathing and proved his dad right that he was not worth it. And in turn he made Orel despise him.
I'm so glad Orel didn't become like his dad and dismissed all of his stupid advise and was happily married to Christina and had two happy kids who loved him.

in the beginning its mostly about a young kiddo named orel and how he incorrectly interrupts the sermons he's told at his church (they live a very religious town called moralton~)
but then usually wild things happen with what orel thinks and in the end his dad (clay) attempts to give him adviceΒ
bUT then the show starts to get reall y dark and very sad i must say veery sad.... :^( as the show starts to dive into the lives of everyone in moralton and just everyones got heart breaking lives it seems gaah and then it also focuses heavily on orel and clay's relationship and a lot of his family in general
its a really interesting show but it sure gets upsetting quickly~ :cc

it really went into everyone's story and there was so much jumping back and forth and it made me so sad
