-Takes a deep breath- Whew!

Sorry it took me so long, guys. Got a little overwhelmed with life and preparing for a ton of things, but I'm SO glad I finally drew something to celebrate my 300+ Watcher Milestone!

I initially had some trouble coming up with a concept, but looking at my previous works, I noticed that each had a particular theme going on there. Then in celebration of the holidays, as well as the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, Fire and Ice suddenly came to mind. The balance between hot and cold was something I wanted to go for, but then the Legendary Birds/Beasts of Johto crossed my mind, and I decided to create something with a strong epic feel while still being fitting for the holidays. We have snow and ice from winter, the warm fires of the hearth, and electricity powering up our lights, and the natural occurrences of nebula, burning air, and even moving chunks of ice in relation to how stars are made and how they glow. I also remembered how Movie Sonic, Super Mario, and Blossom from the PowerPuff Girls have some elemental association thanks to how they can control them, which is what drove the character choices. Also, the character choices were influenced by some real-world occurrences. For starters, once I got home, I watched through the first season of Sonic Prime! TOTALLY defied any and all expectations! I love the writing and how it really dives into the action, and Shadow has actually been done correctly! Second, as I mentioned before, the Super Mario Bros. Movie is looking more and more promising with the new trailers! Third, there's a contest going on featuring the PowerPuff Girls, but I have yet to create my entry. Still, I hope what I did for Blossom may give me some ideas.

It took a lot of experimentation and practicing different lighting techniques to create the overall image, and I hope the end result will blow you guys away. I especially love how I pulled off my Dragonsona and Movie Sonic with the lighting and how I handled their powers. I'm also really glad about how Mario looks, too! I remember once saying that the star-like sparkling in my Dragonsona's wings is an indication of her powers, and I wanted to take that a step further with her eyes, the glowing heart in her chest, her tail, and even her mane being colored to resemble her fire breath. That was all done to be an allusion to a shooting star.

Oh yeah! I completely forgot that the biggest inspiration came from this video right here ! Yeah, it's an advertisement for a car sales event, but the lights and the music were really cool and I just found myself awed by it! Not so much to by myself a car, though... if there would be a concert that used techniques like that, I'd definitely go to that one!
