these robots are like us under the steel;loving and warm,but willing to kill to defend their home and themselves. doing all they couldΒ in defending laputa against in evil man bent on the power to live eternally,fallen by his own pride as we are..so..we all relate to one or another character,if not,all ofΒ them.

I know this is an old piece of yours, but I'm so glad I found it. I love this movie and am always happy to find artwork on it. As usual, the colors are really nice and I like how you have the background more out of focus, which really helps center the attention on the kids and the robot. And nice job on showing the metallic texture of the robot!

I love the softness to this piece! The gentle green glow given off by what nature is left on the island.
At 30 years I still adore this film. I was about 8 when I programmed the vcr to record it at about 2:30am! I missed about the first 45secs of the movie! But still watched it about a hundred times!!

I watched some of it yesterday with my almost 3 y/o son, I was bought the studio ghibli dvd collection a couple of years ago, and I was appalled to find that there's some dodgy over-produced dubbing and full Disney orchestra thing going on! ruins it for me! the dialogues different, the character's individual voices and the music is so loud and different sometimes you can't hear whats going on!
Gonna have to do some searching for the original dub at some point!
