Cutie Mark: atnezau.deviantart.com/art/Hisβ¦Welcome to the Miracleverse! AKA, the Disliked Ships AU, but I don't use this as a platform for hate. While the universe is slightly... twisted, they are all options that could have happened in the main TFIMverse. They're a chance to do things with the... standard ships that people have, and using them in new ways, as well as a platform for interesting characters. I want to do some different things with the designs, so I may note the standard designs I tried to avoid with each design. These designs have been done for... an embarrassing amount of time, so expect a lot of the designs at once, I finally decided to upload them. This gal is from a week or two ago. The reason Darling here doesn't have as complex a bio as most, like Black Forest Roseblood , the reason is that she's going to be one of the tertiary characters, or in other words, she's not as important to the plot, but rather a side character in other ponies stories.
Her design was mainly based on Daring Do's Cutie Mark; her hair is the colors of the compass and her hat and scarf are based on the outer sides. Part of this was also an experiment in how far I could push the style of the show to create ponies who still feel like they would fit in the show, but have more extreme physiques. It's also a slight bit of irony with who her mother is and her lifestyle being different than her parents. I did not intend for the 'fat comic geek' stereotype to come out; her design was started before I settled on her career, it just ended up a coincidence, since I wanted her to continue her family name somehow.
Daughter of Quibble Pants and Daring Do, Darling Do is a bit of an oddball, from being a pegasus of such a large size, it's against the general stereotypes ponies have of certain species, Pegasi are expected to be thin, athletic ponies, coming from their heritage as soldiers, but... well, Darling is a butterball. She's also chosen a profession that pegasi are not commonly known for; artist and writer for the official Daring Do Comics. Unicorns are generally the writers and publishers of book, while her mother broke the mold, pencil or quill art is considered a Unicorn's territory exclusively, even with Pegasi's wings, 'quality' art is considered exclusive to Unicorns. Sure, painting can be done by anypony, but pencilwork requires dexterity only a unicorn can perform.. at least, that's what ponies tend to believe.
Growing up, Darling was never really the athletic type, nor was she interested in her father's career as a critic; she enjoyed watching her mother's adventures and reading about them, but never felt the need to analyze what she knew from birth was a true story. There is no narrative to the Daring Do books to her; they're an autobiography of her awesome mom! Criticizing their realism is criticizing the realism of reality, dad, that's just weird! She also just grew up to be a giant butterball, and while her mother was a bit disappointed that her daughter wasn't going to ever follow in her hoofsteps, but she loves her daughter all the same. Quibble wishes his daughter was a more analytical consumer of media, but she's not. She just enjoys what she reads at face value, not reading for the 'awesomeness' or the intelligence, but because they're good stories.
When she realized her mom was disappointed in her lack of interest in adventuring, Darling decided she wanted to do something to continue the family trade of Daring Do; she used her natural talents at writing and art to create a comic of one of her mom's first adventures, and in the process, constantly asked for details from the source itself; in the end, it was published as the official Daring Do Graphic Novel, and she became the official writer and artist for all of Daring Do's adventures into comic medium. She's praised for her attention to detail and additions to the 'canon' of Daring Do, clarifying the number of arrow holes in Daring's hat, and her intense action sequences, something that many find strange... After all, she could never pull off those moves herself, how does she draw them with such fluidity and accuracy?.. The answer, of course, is that she's seen them in action. Daring would act out her own stories when Darling was a foal, and she picked up on how the action worked, even if she herself would never perform such feats.
She's a famous author in her own right, though obviously she falls under her mother's shadow, that's the career she picked, and she doesn't mind at all. As A.K. Yearling's daughter, officially, she is assumed to be named after A.K's character, not a true family name, but either way, it allows Darling a brand name recognition for her comics, even if they weren't Daring's stories, she publishes 'side-canon' stories, adventures her mother had, but never told the world before. Fans hotly debate whether these are canon or not, and former biggest fan ever and one of the highest respected members of the Daring fandom, Quibble Pants, is considered no longer an authority; of course he would side with his daughter on their canonicity. Plus, they obviously had nods to him in it; so soon after their marriage, suddenly 'Quick Pick' appears in the canon?.. Quick Pick is a very divisive character for his obnoxious nature and 'Mary Sue' qualities; his ability to solve puzzles better than Daring Do is questionable, why should he be the center of the story all of a sudden?
Daring and Quibble obviously met in canon, and soon after the Crystal Empire fell, Daring asked, reluctantly, for Quibble's help in solving puzzles. She found him a competent ally, even if his nature was obnoxious and brash, he was indispensable in many a situation. They became permanent partners and soon married, A.K Yearling announcing a marriage to one of her biggest fans came as a complete shock, but Quibble was praised for 'landing the best mare ever' by one of his best friends, and a very prominent Wonderbolt. Quibble is still in contact with Dash after all these years, and Darling always sends over a copy of the newest comics to her godmother for being such a loyal fan.

Oh I just got off the wiki and the latest episode, will involve Quibble Pants, having a girlfriend named "Clear Sky" and he'll have a daughter named "Wind Sprint". This might put a damp in your ship

I hate to bud in because this is none of my business BUT I did look it up and it says that Wind Sprint is only the daughter of Clear Sky, not Quibble Pants. He is not Wind Sprint's birth father. Again, sorry to bud in. :/

Wind Spirit is not related to Quibble Pants, there's a literal episode focused on Quibble impressing Wind Spirit

I, shockingly, am incapable of predicting the future, and did not foresee this, but better yet; this is the miracleverse... AKA the disliked ship universe.

She's not actually as groundbound as she looks; Pegasi shouldn't be able to fly with any sized wings and thus rely on more magic than muscles for their flight (See; Bulk Biceps; pecs or no, his wings are far too small to lift him yet he flies anyway)... but she's not a fan of the amount of effort it takes to achieve liftoff or fly for any significant amount of time and thus hasn't practiced getting her wings ready for flight; so basically... yes and no?
She could probably fly in an emergency situation for a little bit but she wouldn't be good at it nor would it be easy and it definitely is a LOT harder for her than the average pegasus, and she'd probably fail a couple times before she succeeded.Β

If you're not willing to read a story that's mainly text based with cover images, then there's just nothing I can do for you.

What were you expecting? For me to repeat what I wrote in the description again? Take time out of my life to write a cliff notes version of my stories?

I would recommend splitting the story into visual chunks by separating them into paragraphs (which you seem to do but maybe put another line of space between them), It's a little easier on the eyes than a wall of text.Β

See, that's constructive criticism.
i just have problems myself with following things that do have more space between paragraphs when reading, which is something that's inconvenient because I like rereading my own work often.
not dismissing you at all, I hope you understand what I mean?

i too have problems with reading the entire paragraph.
i get lost midway and then i have to start over.

Kinda? but you can still reread it with extra spaces.

It breaks my concentration on writing; I actually write these as I work on the description and it breaks me out of my streak.
I absolutely understand it may be inconvenient to others and I'm sorry I was a bit rude; I've gotten frustrated over people telling me what to do and write and it makes it hard for me to accept 'tl;dr', especially because it frustrates me to hear it at all when.. like... then maybe it's not about commenting on the art if you didn't read the description when it's that long?...
