BG: [link] [link]Ok, so I'm reuploading this with a new headcanon...
And I'm worried I'll come off like rubbing salt in a wound. And i really dont want to do that, but I really like this idea, and I'm afraid ill make cat angry or sad again and i dont want to do that but I'm trying to make this different than what she was doing... I'm sorry Cat if this is rubbing salt, but you really inspired me
So that whole "Northern Lights=Lightning Dust" was a horrible prank from some douche, and I feel really bad for Cat (And now I'm afraid she doesnt want my sympathy because it might be touchy but if it isnt ill come off as a jerk and im going to stop here before I go into a spiral) but I really liked the idea of Lightning dust being from the future, but I understand cat not wanting anything to do with that anymore, so I'm not going to make her northern lights. I just got really inspired by the idea she posted in Busted My Chance (deleted deviation in which lights was trying to get dash kicked out) and I started thinking about how I could work the idea into my headcanon, and then I thought about what she said about the same old future, and then it clicked for me, what if she didnt just create her future? What if she disturbed the time continuum in a way that made pinkiedash canon in this universe? So now that northern lights isn't at all lightning dust, that busts my headcanon, right? [link] !
TL,DR; Lightning Dust is a Spitdash daughter from an alternate timeline in my universe (IE; All the same world building shit), in which Dash is accepted into the wonderbolts without an intervention from Lightning, and Pinkie did get letters back from RD. Might draw that verse sometime.

Well...
1. Rather than using OCs, I tend to use obscure background ponies, so I probably won't use Regal Rust. I might use Sunset herself.
2. The idea of Sunset Shimmer having a daughter at her age doesn't sit well with me.
3. I don't think Spitfire and Rainbow Dash make a good pairing so I might use a Wonderbolt that doesn't have a personality (btw I hate SoarDash)
4. Instead of being thrown back to Sonic Rainboom as an adult, Lightning Dust will be thrown back to the flashback when RD first did it as a filly (still a filly herself).
5. Several butterfly effects will happen (first Sonic Rainboom never happened, etc)
6.Β This mare Β will join Lightning Dust.
7. An anti mane 6 will be formed, changing the ways several episodes turned out. Some chapters feature them in the Mane 6's exploits (like Three's a Crowd), some won't (like Dragonshy).
8. The ship for Lightning Dust will be different.
9. Instead of the Mane 6's kids, I'll use foals seen in the show that in my headcanon are related to them, except Rainbow Dash. She has Lightning Dust.
10. Discord's reformation will come less genuinely and more magic-ly. Trixie's reformation reverts during "Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell".
11. This isn't necessarily a change, but it will take place 5 years after Rainbow Rocks (so the Mane 6 will mostly be around 23).
12. Rather than an AU where Sunset remained evil, Trixie coaxes Sunset back to the dark side.
13. Sunset will probably outshine Lightning Dust in some of the more slice-of-life episodes.
14. The episodes featuring the anti mane 6 will go in what I think is the chronological order rather than airdate order.
15. This also isn't a change, but before seeing this,Β this Β came to mind a few days ago, and since it features both Sunset and Lightning Dust, can I incorporate that in (yes, I know it's incredibly sick and twisted, but still)?
As a side note, Lightning Dust doesn't come in until the fifth(?) chapter. The majority of the beginning involves Trixie and Chrysalis.

Although personally I do want to point out that Sunset was an adult when Twilight was 10 or so, so she's at least 10 years older than Twilight. Just saying, not being rude or anything.

... um, to avoid any difficulties, I just won't bring up the possibility that the portal can change the characters' ages (but then I have to come up with an excuse for the sirens). Besides, we don't know how long Sunset was studying. Plus, Twilight could have become Celestia's student during Sunset's studies.

Can't say I personally ship PinkieDash (I'm more of a TwiJack and FlutterDash guy, personally), but I do like the concept of this picture: Lightning Dust being a SpitDash child from an alternative future who displaces herself into the past because Rainbow Dash staying at the Academy causes a lot of trouble down the line, so she goes back in time to change the past so that Rainbow Dash leaves the Academy early and averts... something.
If Lightning Dust appears in the Quartzy Tumblr, I may allude to that backstory...

She is on the trail of the EQG mirror with Regal Rust, so it's very likely she'd end up in the Crystal Empire, seeing as it's the place where the mirror stayed.
Technically she prevents the fall of Cloudsdale and the split off from Equestria, but what's more interesting to me is that she causes a lot of more minor shifts, like Sassaflash and Caramel breaking up because of the extra stress put on Sassaflash from her job when Lightning Dust used her similar appearance to Sassaflash to get information. Just the butterfly effect >3<
