Snails was diagnosed with a magical birth defect soon after his 10th birthday. He had been enchanted magically, his mind was slowed down magically by something in birth. He went to canterlots school for gifted unicorns, and has come back an entomologist to find his childhood sweetheart, twist, married to his rival in affections, truffle shuffle. His heart broken, he met applebloom, who never knew the colt behind his slow mentality, and they slowly fell in love.
