Brief Backstory: So all Odette currently knows is that there was a very wealthy demon family visiting one day with their own private security. The castle was bustling with dinner party preparations. She sat around waiting for her fathers formal invite to the party in her room. It never came. What did come was a bloodied housemaid that came to her room and snatched her up and ran for the servants quarter and escaped with other servants. All she heard was "the guests are attacking us! We must keep you safe!" And they left the floating castle island through a ship. Leaving her family behind. SO UHM. What happened on the island was her father's younger brother hired this wealthy family's special trained ops to assassinate the current royal family. Her father only had one child. Her. Having no male heir and her mother barren after her birth. However her uncle had 3 sons. 2 twin boys and a younger son. All fitting heirs to the throne. But her father refused to let anyone but Odette inherit the crown. To which would be the first female head of the castle. The kings brother was outraged at the breaking of traditions and the refusal of his eldest son inheriting the throne (older than Odette and was trained to be king in case the king never gave birth to a child). This was a private affair. No one on any continent knows what happened. Private assassins are hunting for Odette. Until the current royal family is wiped out, her uncle's children cannot inherit the throne. The throne is special. It gives you sight through miasma streams, an increased ability of your natural arts that you must discover to control on your own. And many other unique things. As well as an omniscient presence. When her father died (yes sad) it was passed naturally to her. She had just finished her formal education at 15. Her royal education had begun at 16. She had not learned about the throning ritual or the special privileges of the crowned. She doesn't know anything about the status of the castle, but she knows her life has now changed and she must try and survive for her family's sake.
