Description

You may or may not recognize this character, depending on how long you have been following me on the internet. This is Treilyan, back in 2009-2010 she was a Predator/Yautja fan character of mine (you might recall her from this piece drawn by XenoPredDragon ), but now she has been re-designed, re-purposed, and now takes part in an original story of my own called “Tales of the Worgyrgs”. I’m incredibly pleased with how this turned out, although her outfit will most likely be updated in the future.

Name & title: Treilyan, Deity of Protection
Species: Deity (formerly mortal Worgyrg)
Pronouns: She/her
Age: Ageless (elevated at the age of 198)
Backstory:

Treilyan was born in the early era when the Worgyrgs had spread across their home planet and plenty of settlements and tribes had sprouted all over the glove.

Duting this time there were many conflicts and wars between tribes, and one day her home village was almost obliterated. In the attack her house was burned to the ground, and she lost her partner and only child. She was devastated, heartbroken, and angry. After that event she swore to never let any harm come to her people ever again, and she became a powerful warrior who protected the village for many years.
The two first Deities, Malur and Sanar, were amazed by her determination, spirit, and love, and offered her to be elevated into a Deity, to join them and protect everyone who needed her help. Treilyan accepted the gift and left her life as a mortal behind.
Now she lives among the other Deities, fulfilling her duty and watching over the mortal realm.

With her spear she’s able to bring down thunder and shoot electricity.
• Shapeshifting
A common Deity ability. She can take several different forms to us, or alter her current one, when approaching mortals, but it’s rare she takes a different from than the one you see here.

Legends & folktales:
• Her spear shaft was carved from the branch of a magical tree which stands on top of a tall mountain. The tree had been struck by lightning for thousands of years but was never damaged enough to die.
• It’s said when thunder appears during rainstorms that Treilyan is helping out the Deity of Harvest.
• Carrying the heart-shaped gemstone Treilyan carries with her will make you immune to any damage, as if you are surrounded by a reality bending barrier.
• It’s said earthquakes are some times caused by Treilyan dancing.
• It’s said that those who are allowed to sleep on Treilyans hair will be granted immense strength for several days, even weeks.
• One time a mortal found a sorrow struck Treailyan and sang a song for her. Treilyan thanked the mortal by shipping off a piece of her magical gemstone and gave it to them. It would not protect them the same way the entire gemstone would, but it would bring a certain amount of protection to wherever the person brought the shard.
Ceremonies and other practises:
• When a new building or large construction is being built, prayers and ceremonies are held to Treilyan, asking for her to protect the new building.
• Old iron tools that can no longer be used or re-smelted are often left in or around shrines and temples dedicated to Treilyan.
• Within sports involving martial art it’s common to prayer to Treilyan before the match begins.
• Those who are deeply dedicated to Treilyan often dress their hair the same as her.

• Green gemstones, such as; peridot, emerald, jade, green aventurine, etc.
• Jawbones (animals)
• Talons (animals)
• Spicy incense
• Naturally light coloured wood
• Items made purely out of iron
