Nice work... good design, and the lines are all very clean and sharp, which goes a long way toward making it look good in full-view.

I was wondering when you were gonna come up with a new pic. This is excellent, the detail is amazing. And it seems you now have more then just me commenting your work

OOOOH, i see it now. i thought the 3d was really messed up there. took me a minute, but now i see how it goes. do you think you could darken the inside? i couldn't see it on my own. well damn, if thats bay one, that means there are others, and this ship is bigger than i thought. thanks for explanation.

.. one question though: where does the door pull back to? is it circular? the wall that it would retract into isn't long enough for the opening... unless the door is circular.

The bays are actually very small. They really only accomode 4 fighters each. The idea behind this is the ability to quickly dock, refuel, and deploy fighters in battle. Bay 2 door is located on the opposite side and the bay 2 hanger is right behind hanger bay 1. bay door 3 is located on the same side as bay door 1 and hanger bay 3 is right behind hanger bay 2. So the doors alternate on the sides on the ship and the bays are in a row down until the engine area.

lol, i didn't mean to hit a soft spot with the door. but yeah, "super strong, foldable composite material" is fine, lol. only 4 ships per bay? what about all the empty space that is caused by the empty space of the bay? is that used in some way? also, remember this is in space, there is no up or down. so you could have bays underneath if you wanted, or on top, or in front, or really anywhere, lol.

Ok, i'll make some lame excuse for the door, because I know it's a mistake...It's make out of a super strong, foldable composite material and it just rolls up like a home depot garage door...how's that?

wow, nicely done. well worth the wait. the thing that says "bay one" on the side (front with respect to the ship) looks as though it goes in and out of the ship, what does that do for the ship? does that mean that the different bays move around inside the ship instead of their being multiple doors?

Actually the door you can see, is half-way open and the second one inside is at a 90 degree angle to the first one...so the first door opens and a ships flys in and it closes. then the second door on the inside of the ship opens and brings in the small ship into the hanger bay.
