I wasn't a big fan of the original series, but i love the Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics.

I'm a fan of the original comics too and i just love the way new show respects its origins! The paintings on the wall of Scrooge's house, new comics like style, the whole atmosphere... It's good.

I hope this will end well and triplets will have their mom back =< But for now we can only quess what awaits us in the series.
The episode was quite promising, by the way. I hope the creators will keep this pace and the mix between adventures and slice-of-life moments.

I watched it today
Ugh.... They're either gonna get the Della situation right... or it's gonna be a dumpster fire...
Honestly? I don't think the triplets should get their mom back. It makes the entire situation difficult and could create more problems than it solves. Namely "who gets the kids". Especially with how cut in half the family already is (if the show decides to go that way which it looks like it kinda does but for different reasons?)
And if they bring back Della but Donald keeps the kids anyway it's like the show chickened out of going the hard route and just wanted to "make it easy". "Oh look kids! No their mom's still around! But they stay with Donald! Everyone's happy!"
X'D like.... no.... this family is a mess and you can't ignore that. That's kinda what makes it great imo. They're a giant hot mess but they stick together and make it work as best they can.
But this is all my opinion 8'D hahaha (and really, who am I, right?)

Hey, you know, quite an interesting point of view, i haven't thought about that so far. Here we have another example of Disney's strange families where kids are raised not by their parents (both triplets and Webby, by the way!). For some reason Disney loves to use that move in it's movies. I'm sure that one of the main themes in the show will be the bond between kids and their uncles, and sacrifices, that they will make for each other. Yeah, this will be a mess, but a mess, bond with strong family ties, which will appear during the show. Donald and his fatherly concern about the boys is so cute that it is almost troubling to imagine someone else in this parental role, even Della. Her possible appearance sure will break the usual order of things in that family. It's also troubling that we know nothing about the character - will it be worth of it at all? But may be Disney have some adequate solution to this family problem. Giving triplets a mother doesn't mean they should part from Donald and Scrooge in future. Well, ya know, i think Della has a pilot's outfit for a reason - may be with the announce of "Darkwing Duck" Launchpad can сhange an employer, if you know what i mean? So the pilot's place can become vacant and Della can be engaged in. It's just thoughts of mine and i'm not sure how i feel about it (I really like that ol pal Launchpad), but that can be the way to keep the whole bunch of characters together. But it's hard to say for now how good that decision can be. Expecially remembering the fact that it's just my сonjectures
I've also read your tumblr post about Ducktales. It made me think more closely about some aspects of the show that i haven't noticed before

Especially since for some ODD Reason, the Disney universe ITSELF(Not the Characters in it) Loves to take a Dump on him!! Seriously, I cannot stand it when the Universe treats HIM as terribly as Megward the Wizard!! I Mean throw the Dog a phreaking bone, He needs to be treated better!!

It will be very interesting to see where they are heading on. But i somehow believe that Della is alive - but something bad happened to them during one of their adventures. But this is only guesses of mine

Yeah! I'm hoping that's the case too. Implying she's dead or something would feel a bit like cheating, because that's like the obvious answer to the whole 'something terrible happened...'. I'm hoping for something more creative

Yeah, i agree! I hope for the neutral decision - for some serious
circumstances that have just kept Della apart from her family (may be some magic curse or something). It would be great to see her alive and back in action in the series! And i'd like to see the father of the triplets as well
