He seemed like he could have been a very interesting character. I wish we had gotten more of an explanation about him in the movie. Very beautiful!

I would like to know how he became a sea sorcerer and fell in love with the river goddess.
In the anime, he is shown as a rather introverted, eccentric scientist with magical powers, who worries about the destruction of nature and marine pollution caused by humans.
He also takes care of his hundreds of beloved daughters and Ponyo
