Growing up, she saw a lot of injured or abused and abandoned pokemon come in and out of her parent's clinic and decided she wanted to work to being a great caretaker of pokemon herself. She utterly despises anyone who mistreats pokemon to the point where she will drop her standard serene mood in an instant to go confront them, and will even be willing to fight them herself to teach them a lesson. She's very quick to judge and has a bad habit of holding grudges against people she's decided she doesn't like. On the other hand, she absolutely loves meeting people who care about nature and pokemon and will go out of her way to be sweet to them to the point where she comes across as clingy and annoying. This is, oddly, a family trait of hers, as her parents and estranged sister do the same thing.

Alicia is a complete and total hippie, constantly drifting off and dreaming about how much she loves nature and pokemon. While she doesn't really like battling, all of her pokemon do, so she lets them. Her team also enjoys contests (except Smith, who would rather be anywhere besides a fruity contest hall) and the Pokeathlon, and she trains them in those events to showcase the effective care of her parent's clinic, almost like advertising.

She also seems to suffer from Brock-Eye Syndrome, since her eyes are constantly closed when she's happy or in one of her dream-moments. She does, however, have eyes and can see fine. The bandanna she wears over her left eye is purely cosmetic and remains as a reminder of her days rehabilitating Smith.

Alicia tends to spend her rather limited funds on food and on her pokemon and as such has an incredibly limited wardrobe for herself. This also means that she tends to spend her nights camping or in pokemon centers where she doesn't have to pay. She has never had a job outside of volunteering in her parent's clinic and therefore lacks skills and common sense in the workplace.

Her affinity for nature has grown to the point where she is a complete technophobe, where even accessing Bill's PC is beyond her comprehension. She has to call her parents to have them guide her through the steps to do anything with a computer. This also means that she is incredibly wary around technological pokemon, such as Magnemine, Porygon, and Metagross, and will have no clue what to do if she's around them or battling them.

Once used in an underground dogfighting ring, Smith has an incredibly viscious side that comes out when his trainer is in danger or if he is called into battle. He fights unflinchingly, taking no prisoners and giving no quarter to his opponents. He fights physically, knowing no special moves personally, and uses in-your-face techniques meant to destroy his opponent as quickly as possible.
Smith favors moves like Rage, Take Down, Payback, and Crunch in battle.
He never shows any signs of weakness or pain, and will fight until he simply cannot anymore.
If he gets out of hand, which is possible, Alicia may have to stop him personally from damaging an opponent's pokemon unnecessarily. He will never harm her.

While rehibilitating him, Alicia took to wearing a cloth over her own eye to make him feel less unusual or alone. Really, it was incredibly silly, but the act spoke to Smith and it was one of the main things that showed him she cared.

Rowdy is a total punk and utterly fearless. He will take on opponents a thousand times his size and not think twice about it. Though he's not as small as he once was, he packs quite a punch in his bite and still races around with seemingly endless energy, snapping at the ankles of his opponents and tiring them out until they can't fight anymore. Now he has a bit more weight to throw around as well.
He prefers moves like Bite, Super Fang, Hyper Fang and Crunch. However, he does show a surprising talent in special moves like Icy Wind, though he doesn' t really use them outside of contests. He also likes to bite people as a sign of affection or a sign of distrust. It's hard to tell which.

Athletic stat: Speed.

Rowdy was found in a house that had been partially crushed by a landslide, trapped under rubble. He'd half gnawed through his own tail and it had to be amputated when he was recovered, though aside from that he made a full recovery. His tail didn't grow back when he evolved. He likes his trainer and enjoys gnawing on her arms to show it, so there are suspiciously Rattata-esque bitemarks on her arms most of the time. This has lessened since he's evolved and can no longer fit in the front of her shirt.
He is super srs and is always going >:C even when he's happy.
His specialty is the Pokeathlon, and his Hidden Power type is Ice. Rowdy's pokeball is a Friend Ball.

Though incredibly serene and sweet outside of battle, Penny can be monsterously powerful in battle. She does all her fighting with the same dopey smile on her face, unleashing incredible special attacks while not moving an inch. If she takes damage, she simply shrugs it off with Slack Off and returns the damage dealt later.
Penelope likes to use special moves, especially ones like Focus Blast, Brine, Psychic and Psychic. She also likes to take the time to boost her stats with Calm Mind. Sometimes, if a fight gets dire, the Shellder on her tail will bite down and startle her into paying attention.
However, whenever the battle ends, she will ALWAYS offer to heal her opponent.

Penelope is actually a registered pokemon nurse and Alicia's first pokemon. She was an egg that was supposed to be a Happiny, sent to a training facility for pokemon nurses, and the teachers decided they'd give teaching the accidentally obtained Slowpoke a shot. She took to it like a fish to water and she absolutely loves it. Penny isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but she's positively devoted. She can't naturally heal anyone besides herself, but she gives her shell-bell to any injured pokemon and actually lets them attack her until they're healed. She doesn't mind a bit. She's the sweetest, most retarded thing you'll ever meet.
The Shellder that bit down on her tail is kind of irritated it got stuck with such a goody-goody Slowpoke as a partner, but he does have a soft spot for her. If he gets hit in a fight, he'll reflexively bite down on Penny's tail and she'll suddenly wake up and go into a mode where she's very focused and active. Sometimes for her safety the Shellder will bite her on purpose.

She's delicate and can't hit very hard, so she makes up for that by using her abilities to incapacitate and wear down her opponents until it's easier for her to finish them off, or by infuriating them until they lose their self control and fight poorly. She's pretty agile and can dodge attacks well, but her stamina isn't the best and she can wear herself out if she spends too much time running and dodging.
Her preferred moves are Hypnosis, Growl, Captivate, Fake Out, and anything along those lines. When she needs to do damage, she fights with her claws and teeth. While she's not much of a team player, she works well in multi-mon battles, weakening her opponents so her partner can take them out.

Caught in the third round of the Big Sky Carnival, Carrie found Alicia more than the other way around. She's always in a pretty good mood, pretty proud of herself, and totally calm most of the time. She can panic if she's outnumbered or at a loss for a good solution to a problem, but intimidation tactics don't work on her. Despite being a cat, she doesn't care much about Rowdy being a rat or Smith being a dog.
The only noteworthy things about her appearance is the white fur on her stomach and her somewhat scruffy fur. She's not as prissy as most of her species, but just as proud. She doesn't like being petted or held, but she likes being around people.
Her specialty is tactics and multi-battles, and her Hidden Power type is Bug. Carrie is in a Sky Ball.
