Is the darkness in the background achieved in camera or was that done in post? I love the way the lighting is done here though.

Nope, that's not post - just an effect I've been trying to nail for ages It's exposing with the high/mid-lights rather than the lows, so they fall out compeletely. This one, and the portrait that goes with it, might possibly be my favourites from the shoot
