It's fair to say your work on this character among other military-themed stories has inspired me to want to work in that genre now more than ever. Love it. Thank you for all the hard work and for being such an inspiration! ย

ย Good to see you keeping your personal icon alive in the imagination, Trooper Johnson!ย

Yeah, for one reason or another Rogue is one of the main characters I've become associated with over the years.. which was pretty much why I chose to use a pic of him as my icon.

ย I wonder if the association came before or after you started using the icon? (Bit of a 'the chicken or the egg?' question, that one).

From my point of view the association came before I started to use the Rogue icon, that was WHY I chose to use it, previously I had been using a Judge Dredd head as my icon, but quite frankly, people (at that time) simply didn't see me as a Dredd artist, so I changed it... I think the association comes from the fact that I have drawn him quite a lot for 2000AD. Whatever the reason, people do seem to like seeing me draw him, which is fine by me.

ย Well this answers THAT 'the chicken or the egg' question; it's fascinating to wonder how audiences form these impressions, though not always very helpful (The Audience being hydra-headed and often whimsical, if not outright capricious).ย
