Just experimenting with yet another drawing style - notice it's more freestyle, the lines have more movement. Hooray for the Whack-em tablet.
Howl? Peony? Long lost brothers I presume. But Howl is the pasty one who doesn't surf. Hehe

I'm honestly not sure what this is doing in Scraps. It's a rather good depiction of Howl. I like the mix-and-match costuming especially (I always thought the green uniform was the coolest-looking thing he wears in the movie, but his white, pink, and gold outfit looks so cute with the blond hair). You've captured the best of both costumes here, I think.
His expression looks ... kinda sad, somehow. Or maybe just distant. Anyway, I like it.

I love how you did it differently than what you usually do; I love this... "freestyle"? I don't like this word, but I can't find the equivalent than the one I'm thinking about in french. Well, this thing which consists in letting oneself go, instead of being all meticulous. It makes the whole thing more... alive.
And I like very much his face! There is something about his eyes and his eyebrows that I love.
The coloring of the hair is great too, but this isn't new

Wow... I really like something about this one! It's a really natural pose, relaxed, matches the expression on his face, and all of that... It's a really cool one, and I like it! The style is neat, also... It seems... more... I don't know how to explain it! It's a neat style, though! Very nicely done!

Thanks for your comments Bert'. I basically sat down and stared at random Japanese fanart for a few hours and tried to absorb the skill by osmosis. If only all learning were done by osmosis... oh well, it's worth a try, right?!
