Reminded of this pistol again for some reason.
Dead sexy, and quite useful.

Okay, now I know who to thank for this little beauty. When roleplayng it's always nice to have a gun that looks good, and has good stats

ell you the truth the half the time I flip through a source book during character creation. If i see a weapon, vehicle, or gear I like the looks of I stop and see if I can make use of it.Ā
once I've flipped through and picked the stuff I like the looks of I go back through and look at the numbers of the other stuff..usually if the numbers are close i go with the one I like the looks of....yeah, not exactly an optimum selection process but I can make a less than "best" selection work if I am inspired.Ā

I tend to do the same thing when I play video games. I'll frequently slum around in armor with crappy stats if I think it looks bad-ass.

Personally i think if you can show a player , Okay this is what your looking at", or "this is the gun he's holding"".It adds to the enjoyment and ability of a player to get into the world he;s playing in.
Part of what I liked about Shadow run is that they spent a bit of effort to create visual aids, and great scenes to give players a slid idea of what the world, people, and critters looked like.IĀ

Yeah, FASA was the first game company to really put a focus into the art side of the equation. All the Battletech and Shadowrun books were so much richer and better-illustrated than almost anything else published at the time. It made the books very pleasant to read, and really helped you get into the game worlds.

well If think FASA helped ot push other companies in that direction. high quality artwork is now common in game books. Where before it was just some quick sketches by less than skilled artists.
considering artwork as integral to the project instead of an after thought has really helped a lot of games make the jump from "ehh" to "neat"

My characters all carry one. It or the Walther PB holdout. Coolest ones I have come across as far as handguns go!

It's a dead sexy looking firearm, and I loved the description that went along with it (including the part about Little Black Dresses!)
