I use 3D Studio Max for modeling, Adobe Photoshop for textures, and V-Ray for rendering

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm glad you like the model.
But regarding the model, this is actually a very very old model of mine, was done in my first months of 3DS Max. I dint knew much about a decent texture or a good rendering at the time, hence the model is not accurate, and the rendering not so good.
Again, thanks for all the comments.

A very nice set of blades, I am especially fond of the tsuba.
However as nice as they are you missed some rather vital points; Firstly, the blade of the katana only seems to have an edge near the tsuba, the shadowing makes the rest seem somewhat like a bar or ingot rather than a sharpened blade. Secondly the edge of the blade is missing the characteristic 'wavy' pattern caused by purposeful uneven heating. Finally the blur effect that is used on the reflections on the blade should probably be switched to a distortion to properly reflect the time that anyone who actually cares about a sword would put into maintenance.
That said, damn good work for only three days.

This is an amazing look for a katana,it captures the absolute purity of the art,and even though its not real, this is something i would love to have comissioned.its a beautiful display.
