How long did it take you to do this majestic piece? Like from start to finish. Did you start in pencil or right from digital lines?

To answer your question, it took a very long time. 
This is all digital, done in Photoshop. For the pose, this image was my main reference:Β www.dropbox.com/s/bfi24tm61nx9β¦ and I modified things as I saw fit. I probably spent like 3 hours just nit picking things like the position of her arms, how she would wield her weapon and things like that, and halfway through the process when I was nearly done I went back and severely modified her face because it wasn't very feminine and honestly looked a little derpy, lol.
Photoshop offers a lot of tools that will help you play with the color in your pieces. You can use Levels, Curves, Color Balance, Selective Color, and Color Lookup. You can use one or all of them to tweak color and experiment.Β
I guess my advice is to do a lot of figure drawing and painting so you understand volumes, shapes and how lighting affects your characters. The lighting on this piece isn't a great example because it looks like studio light.
