please fullview^^This is my contest price for for entering my journal making contest. she wished for me to draw her character Kiyoshi who is a eastern themed cat bandit.
I'm pleased with the result allthough, he came out alot more meaner looking than in *dmfox 's drawings: [link]
the colouring style is somthing I haven't tried before wich I learned from ~Pyrosity

You're definitely right about him looking a bit meaner than in the picture!
Ah well, he looks good like this, if he's gonna mug people he has to look the part!
My favourite part of this is the mask, the shading you've given it makes it very three-dimensional looking.
Nothing much here to critique on, I noticed the right eye and I thought you'd forgotten to colour the iris, but I checked the reference sheet and that's how it's supposed to be. I noticed ~Pyrosity 's idea of using imageshack to outline what he's saying. It's a damn good idea actually, often I've wondered how to say something to someone who I don't have on messenger. I think I'll go see about getting me an account/signing up for imageshack.
Great work, I have to say, I really like it when you draw medieval characters.

Where's he from? His character's green stone pendant thing looks Maori to me (indigenous New Zealand race). They often have little green hooks and stuff.

as for as I know.. he doesn't sneak into peoples houses and rob them there, he robs them i broad daylight, thus making him a bandit not burglar

I like his expression, and facial features in general
The one thing I might have changed would be to make the upper line of his right forearm come more in front of the upper arm, something like this: [link] , because technically the forearm should come in front. A good reminder for doing things with foreshortening is that parts "overlap" each other
But yeah, cool stuff! I hope whatever colouring technique you tried out helped you

Ya life is keeping me busy, I'm FINALLY joining the Army in Jan/Feb. So getting in top physical condition for that is taking all my time. I'll be as active as I can be, between parties and more parties, that I must go to. Being a VIP in a small town has its advantages.
