Description
wow I'm actually finished with my very first comic page.. not that this picture is a very interresting or thrilling page though... I mostly just drew this comic page because I wanted to try out colouring backgrounds and for the most part I'm very pleased with the result^^Anyhow this page is a continuation of this picture: [link] where Daren is sent off by the other two bandits to fetch water when he sights smoke over the hills... or somthing like that atleast..
I'm very worried that the scanner killed most of the colours scine the paper was a few inches bigger than the scanner so I couldn't scan it proporly..

Ah yes! This is the one you sent me on Msn
I think you made the right choice with regard to that 3rd panel, it certainly seems to work out. Definitely creates more mystery for the last panel.
If I may suggest though, I think if you made the frame borders more clear it'd be easier to follow. It'd be a bit difficult if you were wanting to stick soley to watercolours, since the page'd be kinda wet. Maybe if you left it to dry and ruled black lines with a marker or even just whacked them in with photoshop or something after you scanned it you'd be able to get them in easy enough.
Background's very good as per usual. The colours you've used give a nice autumn-y feel to the entire thing.

thanks I guess I should have added a border.. but then again I don't think I'll ever bother to try this again.. since it hardly got any attention dispite my endless hours of colouring all those details...

No problem
40 comments and 9 's isn't that bad is it? Certainly wouldn't be bad if one of my pics got that much attention...

oh.. well.. yea your right there.. I don't know.. I have a bad habid of measuring the popularity after how many favs.. and ...
the main reason I get attention at all is mainly beause I'm such a comment-hooker, and in my paranoid world I believe (most)people will stop bothering to comment on my stuff if it hadn't been for my 5000 comments I've commented on other stuff..
GHEE what's WRONG with me today!? sorry you have to lisend to my grumpy talking..

There's nothing wrong with being a comment-hooker, you tend to write good comments too which puts you in the group of "People dA could really do with more of"
I used to be kinda paranoid with using the watch feature. I never watched anyone unless I really, really liked their stuff. Only about a month ago I realised "What am I doing? The more people I watch, the more good art I see and the more people who will hopefully watch me back"
I try to comment on everything that comes through my inbox but it can be hard to keep up. I'm only allowed on the comp an hour a day and if I were smarter I'd probably spend more on doing my tablet stuff. I like to write big-ish comments too so they take time. Often I get a bit guilty feeling if I leave something too long...
I tend to measure my popularity by fav's too, I was quite disappointed with a few of mine that took me a long time and only got one or two. Thing is, whilst it'd be quite neat to be one of the people who get like, a tonne of fav's on everything, I'm happy more or less where I am. I have several neat friends who write good, helpful comments and that's more or less the ideal conditions for me to improve what I do. When I see a picture with 1000 comments on it, I don't even waste my time writing something half-thoughtful, if anything at all. If I did, it'd get lost in all the noise of people posting unhelpful one line comments.

"which puts you in the group of "People dA could really do with more of"
thanks, that's awfully kind of you to say^^ but then again that isn't allways true since the reason you allways experience long comments from me is because I love 90% of your art ALOT and there is allwaqys so much details to look at and comment on..
and then we got the half-interresting pictures from other people, where I usually post a rather brain-less comment!
when pictures like "Rebel armed to the teeth" gets twice the 's when I've didn't use all that much time on it.. I'm beginning to wonder why I bother to do watercolours.. but oh well.. I will continue trying atleast^^

This looks great!!! I have never seen a comic in water colors before. It's very unique though! Aside from the obvious awesome of the dude in the green cloak, I really like the way you have done the trees and bucket. It's that attention to detail that makes your pictures stand out :-D One tip... if you think the scanner has killed the color, you can always adjust the color balance and saturation in photoshop to match the original painting

Awesome comic page. The artwork is great throughout. And for borders, you could try not having each cell connect.

yea that's a good idea by not having the cells connecting.. but I don't think I'll bother to watercolour the next page.. since this one toook SO much time to finish.. and I hardly got any attention on it..

Wow, great job
Hmm...I think you should have added some lines around the character, because he seems to be blending into the background too much...well, that's just my opinion

Hey it isn't that easy to make distinct borders with only watercolours! but yea i could have added black ink outlines ofcourse..
but thanks anyhow, for the comment and fav

It's a bit blurry. You could try holding the paper against the scanner, rather than just letting the lid do the work. It's what I do.
Watercolours work well for smoke...
