FULL view! pretty please?this is my contest price for my dear friend where I decided to draw his reptillian rebel sniper Murk.
And since ~Illogical-Lynx has hinted that he likes that I've started pencil shading I decided I would make this picture my best shading yet^^
I kinda regret that I shaded the bandanna with a camo pattern.. he has so much patterns on him allready

Anyway, it's a lovely piece you've done here. The backgrounds and markings make me so very happy, and the costume design is downright awesome.

i think the bandanna shading works, i like how you draw poses and guns, i have a bish of a time with guns

Keep working on your shading values, learn where the light source is coming from, in this pic, it's really hard to tell if it's day or dusk or fogging. Especially the character, it's really hard to describe what his arms are doing.
Everything else, the idea/character design and the concept is superb.

What I recommend, get a object, a light, and study where the values are defined and what not. Practice makes perfect

but then again, practice = much spare time and low fun
Full time work = little spare time and low fun
therefor I doubt I'll ever get started on any real practice pictures

aight, well, starting off with what I see... Like what Pyrosity said, the foreshortened arm is well-drawn unlike mine ( I still struggle ) annd how the fingers wrap around in the front of the mag is done very well. Folds in clothing - another one of the strong points, as well as the angled look on the gun and the folds around the shoulder area of him have been done very neatly. Also I noticed you did the background by hand... the wooden roof is really well done!
Well, I can't criticize anything about this one to be honest, aside from a peculiar thing - his helmet seems to follow the contour of his body...
perhaps, aerodynamics?

Lizard troops would do well in deserts, and not a lot of them get drawn. It's nice to see.

Yeah, they can be hard. I might be able to dig up some study sketches and diagrams from my life drawing 1 class last semester on drawing the full figure, if you're interested. One of the ways we learn to draw the figure is by simplifying it to a block form, it really helps keep the general shapes and form of figure in line.
Either way, this is definately showing marked improvement on your part!

I've been trying to catch you on MSN so I could see your progress on this but you've already finished!
I love the scene you've given this, it's like he's on top of some desert stronghold. The wood s a great idea for that too, since wood can look very good done in pencil.
Arms are well done as well, he certainly looks like he's been working out a bit! Come to think of it, I quite like the idea of having this guy as quite physically strong.
Well, overall a truly kickass picture! Thank you very much for doing this for me!
