Poor Barney. Security.. guarding... at Black Mesa must've been an interesting job... I'm sure "headcrab zombies" weren't exactly written into his job description. Especially when said headcrab zombies used to be his coworkers. I doubt he ever really expected to have to deal with anything more serious than bitchy scientists, the occasional broken elevator, and Otis' doughnut shenanigans...Barney's head by Muzzow. Barney's body, hands, the zombie, and the map were all made by VALVe, as far as I know.
(Aw, crap. Sorry for the absurdly large resolution... but I didn't wanna reduce it, for fear of losing some details I worked really hard on...)

This is a great piece, I love how it's the HL2 barney mixed with HL1 surroundings, very well done
ALSO I run a series over on YouTube called the Half-Life Saga. It's a show in which I have played through all the Half-Life games and continue to play various mods for the games. Β It's got a small but active following that continues to grow each day. I love to try to feature and bring attention to various artists and musicians throughout the series, which if you haven't guessed already, is why I am contacting you now. I am wondering if, with your permission of course, I would be able to use your art for use in thumbnails of upcoming videos in the Half-Life Saga. Naturally, I would credit you in the description and provide links to any pages of yours (by default i'd just link your deviantart page). Additionally, i'd be happy to include an annotation on the first video of whichever series your art would appear in giving you credit on screen (if requested).Β

I felt sorry for both Barney and Gordon whenever they had to shoot a zombie, who knows how many of those were more than just co-workers.

I know, that must've been awful :/ Like that part toward the beginning of HL, when Gordon comes across that guard, who's trapped behind a fence with a scientist who just got turned into a zombie. Quite sad, really.

Yeah, and knowing the only way to save them from it is to kill them, I never actually played the first one but used a walkthrough to prepare for 2 and my first experience with Headcrabs was horrible, not horrible cos they overpowered me or anything but just how seeing it made me feel, knowing these people had it bad already with how they have to live and all, and that one guy behind the fence, I was so close to saving him V_V I hit it just as it attached to him, made me feel bad seeing him dead.
