Here are my ten reformed villains selected for this meme:

1. Marik Ishtar (Yu-Gi-Oh!) - Marik started off with a bitter grudge towards Yami Yugi, as because he falsely believed in Shadi's assumption that it was the Pharaoh's soul who sent his father to the Shadow Realm. It was actually his twisted self Yami Marik who committed the act; he eventually realized of this through the duration of Yami Marik controlling his body. Yami Yugi was able to switch the two Mariks with an anime-only Spell Card Ragnarok, returning the good Marik to his body. Marik surrendered the duel, vanquishing his evil side for good and freeing two of Yugi's friends Mai and Bakura from the Shadow Realm.

2. Freed Justine (Fairy Tail)- after Natsu and Gajeel save Fairy Tail and Laxus is expelled, his Thunder Legion members become friendlier to the other guild members and put their differences aside. Freed even cuts his own hair to persuade the master Makarov to stay as head of Fairy Tail. Ohh, how valiant he was sacrificing his long green locks! (I still love Freed with his long hair though)

3. Gajeel Redfox (Fairy Tail) - he was once the powerhouse of the Phantom Lord guild; after the dark guild disbands, he reluctantly joins Fairy Tail at the suggestion of Makarov and acts as a double agent to obtain vital information from Makarov's son (and Laxus' father), Ivan Dreyar. He also regrets attacking Levy McGarden and her teammates Jet and Droy.

4. Jellal Fernandes (Fairy Tail) - Jellal made his debut as one who was obsessed with reviving the black wizard Zeref by completing the Tower of Heaven. It took eight long years to finish all of the construction, and he wanted to use his childhood friend Erza as a sacrifice in his ritual to revive Zeref. However, he was thwarted by Natsu and a battle between them cost the life of Jellal's and Erza's other old friend Simon Mikazuchi. Enraged, Natsu consumed Etheron and it gave him some nasty aftereffects--but it did enable him to defeat Jellal and narrowly escape the collapsing tower with Erza in his arms. Little did Jellal know that Ultear had been manipulating him the entire time and Zeref was actually alive, but in a dormant state.
Jellal's redemption began when he was revived by Wendy at the orders of the dark guild Oracion Seis. His memory was initially wiped clean, but it all became clear to him when Erza told him of his past actions and he started to feel remorse towards her and the deceased Simon. His remorse was the reason why I ship him and Erza together. I'll eventually look forward to how he leads his guild Crime Sorciere. (no spoilers please)

5. Galaxia (Sailor Moon) - claiming to be the most powerful Sailor Senshi, Galaxia's goal was to collect all of the Star Seeds from the entire world--including those of Sailor Moon and her friends. After taking the Star Seeds of Princess Kakyuu, Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask, the four Inner Senshi and the four Outer Senshi, she was one step closer towards claiming Sailor Moon's Legendary Silver Crystal as her last and purest Star Seed. However, Chibi-Chibi's role as the Light of Hope healed Sailor Moon and that was when Galaxia was revealed to be possessed by Chaos. An epic battle between light and darkness raged on, until Sailor Moon was eventually able to heal Galaxia and revive her friends and beloved Mamoru.

6. Evergreen (Fairy Tail) - same reasons as Bickslow and Freed; she persuades Reedus Jonah to paint her a picture and even teams up with Elfman for the S-Class trials. I can't wait to see how her relationship with him unfolds in Tenrou arc.

7. Juvia Lockser (Fairy Tail) - she was once a member of Phantom Lord as an S-Class member of the group Element Four; however, in the wake of Phantom Lord disbanding she joins Fairy Tail--along with her strong love for Gray.

8. Gaara (Naruto) - he was once a bloodthirsty ninja with the uncontrollable forces of sand ninjutsu and the spirit of Shukaku sealed within him; after Orochimaru's failed invasion of Konoha and Sasuke's departure to join him, Gaara steps in to save a fully recovered Rock Lee just as Kimimaro is about to defeat him.

9. Ultear Milkovich and Meredy (Fairy Tail) - both of these members of Grimoire Heart have recently started to interest me, as I am fascinated with how they came to be as evil mages. At the very least they do redeem later on, so I'll look forward to see their redemption periods after I complete Tenrou. I placed them in the same spot as because I would feel bad if I did place them separately or didn't include some other reformed villains in this meme.

10. Bickslow (Fairy Tail) - same reasons with Freed and Evergreen; he is humorous when he and his five dolls tease Lucy about her friendship with Loke (a.k.a Leo). And also, I ship him with the youngest of the Strauss siblings, Lisanna.

Honorable Mentions: Greed (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Sesshomaru (InuYasha) - he's an anti-villain, so does that count?
