Description Here's a little update to the character I created for my animation class. My professor told me to draw other kinds of dogs, so I ended up with a chihuahua. I also decided to give the character more stylized breasts and smaller hips rather than the really large hips that were present in the first design since this new one would be much more appropriate for a chihuahua character. I also decided to give her a longer neck. I'm actually starting to become attached to this character. Will she ever become a full fledged character? We'll see.

That sounds neat. I guess I should probably point out what I learned from the commentary in Roger Rabbit then. Did you know that there were originally going to be seven weasels in the movie. The idea was to make them grotesque versions of the seven dwarfs from Snow White, but they cut it down to just five because they felt that there were too many characters animated on screen in those shots where they do appear.

That's cool to know.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't change anything about the final product. It's too iconic.

Yeah, it was a very humorous idea, but they got to cut some things, especially when you're working on one of the most expensive movies out there.

lol yeah.

I still can't over that Early Unmade Version you make a journal about. It was so cool to see what could have been and I especially loved the old idea for Jessica.

I love seeing things in it's rough form or a different concept for what something used to be like compared to how it is in the final product.

And they did confirm in the audio commentary that Jessica was one of the original villains in the movie during the early stage of development, then it kind of switched over to Baby Herman. It seems they were kind of struggling on who should be the villain in this movie.

I do that all the time.

Although I love the other design, I really like the fact that they made Jessica in to the character she is. I especially love how they pointed out that Jessica doesn't necessarily like the way she looks and the fact that she "was just drawn that way."

I think it's cool how they make her the damsel in distress (though she can obviously handle herself) rather than the villain. Shes' just knows how to work what's she got. lol

Now this has nothing to do with the history of Roger Rabbit, but I just wanted to point out something really strange I saw in the DVD menu for that movie. I found that if you wait long enough in the main menu for the special features disk, you'll actually see Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove pop up with other toons that are walking along the studio. I just thought that was really weird.

Really? That is odd.

It seems out of place too since were suppose to see golden age cartoon characters walking by, and all of a sudden we see a character from a modern animated film.

Maybe they had that story for a while before it was The Emperor's New Groove.

I do have knowledge that it used to be called Kingdom of the Sun, but I have no idea how long they had that story in development.

Maybe is was in development around that time?

This DVD version of Roger Rabbit that I own came out in 2002-2003, so I think that movie was already long out by the time this DVD came out.

Oh, that would make more sense of the situation.

I would say that justifies it.

I believe that Emperor's New Groove cameo out around that time. Maybe even a few years back.

Still, I can't help but imagine how golden age era characters would react when they see him.
