Description

In progressive rock, another band I like as much as King Crimson is ELP (Emerson, Lake & Palmer). By the way, both "In the Court of the Crimson King" and "Brain Salad Surgery" have vocals by Greg Lake. His singing voice is very mysterious and has a unique world view.
"Brain Salad Surgery" has a great sense of unity within the album, and in terms of world-building and storytelling, I personally consider it the best among progressive rock albums. Back then, I used to get goosebumps from the continuity between the end of Side A and the beginning of Side B (which might not make sense to people nowadays, haha).
By the way, the album cover was designed by HR Giger, the same artist known for his work on Alien.
