Description

In Franz Kafka's novels, the irrationality suddenly creeps into everyday life. The protagonist wakes up one morning transformed into a giant bug, gets arrested without warning, or can't reach their desired destination. In short, things that seem impossible happen.
However, recently, it feels like reality has become Kafkaesque. The coronavirus pandemic has completely changed our daily lives, permanent members of the UN Security Council have started wars, and prime ministers have been assassinated. Moreover, AI is attempting to change human life itself. It feels like the world is once again hurtling towards war. If war breaks out, houses might suddenly be destroyed one day, or families might be killed. It seems like a world much more irrational than Kafka's is becoming reality.
Yet, precisely because of these times, I want to make an effort not to lose my humanity.
