One of the artworks I did to support the 'Wear it Purple' art charity event at my uni hosted by the 'spectrum' club representing the LGBTQIA community.
The Wear it purple charity represents: you have the right to be proud of who you are. Sexuality or gender identity does not change this.

Used Pigmented Ink and black pencil on watercolour paper.

Normally I don't explain an art piece but to me, this picture is meant to represent the sadness this woman is experiencing. She feels she can't be her true self and has to hide her identity. The 'hidden' parts of her are represented by the coloured half of her face where it's all bottling up to the point where she doesn't want to hide it anymore. Through the beautiful colours used, I'm trying to express that she shouldn't be hiding this part of her as it is something beautiful and vibrant within her and makes her who she is.

The other side is meant to seen as more lifeless and ghost like, the mask she puts on to hide her true self that in the end, just looks empty.

Does that makes sense? I'm terrible at trying to articulate what I mean
