Description
This is the scanned Version of the "eyeland" (4 print) so you see each bit of dust that's included in the painting. The colours are a few better. Instead of ultramarine, is cyan the one that got a bit short. But it is closer to the truth. The Print itself will have a little less in the colour-dynamics, for the process-colours can't reach the real ultramarineRelated content

Wonderful work as usual Stefan. I would love to know more about the materials and method. How big are all the different pieces? What did you use etc. Anything you can tell me about this piece would be appreciated

The materials: White acrylic primer (outdoor-wall-paint), pencils, ink, several mostly high light-resistant pigments, dammar-varnish, retouching-varnish, egg-yellow, linseed oil, walnut oil, terpentine, water, some ready industrial oil-colours.
The method: After the gesso starting with the drawing in pencil and ink, later change to tempera that gets varnished, change to glazing oil colours on those can be painted with egg-tempera again. In cases of need there is some retouching-varnish in between. So you can use oil-colour and egg tempera layer after layer.
I think about giving courses in that technique and the use of different materials in the painting. Interested? Could be in autumn in Ireland, West-Cork we would need six people to do it economic.

Thank you, working intuitively is that what I can do best, but so is the result ever different as it is expected, the material does what it wants.

that is the wonderful world of art. You go with a certain idea, but with faith in hand you can create an alternate reality all your own. Its an amazing thing.

So you have problems with dairy products? Does that mean "being lactose" and what is all? So you might be blood-type 0?

TankArtist In reply to StephanusEmbricanus [2008-03-30 06:15:10 +0000 UTC]
I think i am blood type O. I didnt think i was always lactose. When i was little i remember eating Ice Cream often... now when i do, i usually get an upset stomach. Funny how things work out.

What about corn cereals and gluten? could also be bad, ice-cream can contend artificial fats. Hope you do not try to live as vegetarian with the 0 type.

The colours are so much better in this picture!........It is such a pity that some of the most beautiful colours can only be seen on the original painting!!!!...

StephanusEmbricanus In reply to TriciaS [2008-03-28 08:06:47 +0000 UTC]
That is a pity and a luck. A pity for the copies and prints, a luck for the original.
But this scan is quite good in colours, the RGB colours are offering a lot of the original tones, the prints in cmyk can nearly never reach the original
