Artist's Comments:
Most of my childhood in the Caribbean was spent in/on the ocean; fishing with my dad, surfing with my brother, free-diving the reefs for lobster and conch, jumping off the boat with dive mask in-hand every time I saw a pod of dolphins or manta ray. The sea is in my blood, and consequently I enjoy painting seascapes. This painting is a testament to the beauty of the underwater realm and the diversity of life. Before putting paint to canvas, I spent days sketching the fish in my saltwater aquarium and researching the various species to ensure the accuracy of the ecosystem. Pictured is a miscellany of Indo-Pacific organisms, including clownfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, damsels, triggerfish, tangs, sardines, cavale, dolphins, rays, clams, brain-corals, acropora-corals, sponges, anemones, mushroom-corals, fan-corals, polyps, ridged-corals, tubeworms, etc.

It's gorgeous, so full of life and colour. I like the lighter glow in the water above the dolphins that adds real depth to the piece. Not only is the attention to detail on the animals great, the plants display a lot of care and attention. Come visit my page some time!
