so, while i was working at hasbro, after we got the bad news that GIJOE: RENEGADES was gonna be cancelled, me and were tasked with being co-lead character designers on RESCUE BOTS. we had very little to go on, except some toy prototypes. almost nothing of what all the human characters should look like. Shane and i began to set out to find a style for the humans before we got to the robots. (ultimately we would end up finding a sort of Challand meets Dan Decarlo thing for the humans). But before we got there, i was definitely flailng around. out of anger and frustration i started drawing really fast and i came up with this line up. i showed it to who laughed and said, " Steve, i think these are great, but they look a little to hip/edgy/ almost scary to be a kids cartoon!" he was totally right, but i kind of liked what i came up with and will probablu use this look for a short comic story i am developing. anyhoo, presented her for your enjoyment.
